Yassa Poisson grillade

This is a tasty dish that we've been eating a lot of recently and would be a great BBQ dish for the summer.  It is great as it is or served with a salad and/or on a bed of rice.
  • 5-6 medium onions
  • couple tomatoes
  • couple of garlic cloves
  • juice of 2 lemons
  • 1 big spoon French dijon mustard
  • 1 vegetable or fish stock cube
  • ground black pepper
  • chilli if desired
  • whole fish - as many as needed to fill your hungry bellies
  1. Chop the onions, tomatoes and garlic.
  2. Add the lemon juice, mustard and stir.
  3. Crumble in the stock cube and pepper.
  4. Adjust quantities to taste and add chilli if desired.
  5. Give the mixture a quick flash fry - just enough to take the edge off the onions.
  6. Taste it - if you find yourself pulling a lemon face and shouting "jai-fon-day"*, you've probably got it right.
  7. Grill the whole fish on the BBQ and serve covered in the sauce.
